Classes

U7-

Given the age groups relatively short attention span we keep the action going with as much enthusiasm, fun and learning as possible.  Over the course of the first 14 weeks, we gradually introduce the players to the concept of “team training.”  As this change evolves from basic training to more advanced team concepts, the players will understand their role on a team and how improving their skills help out the team!  Because they enjoy running around, we instruct the young athletes through fun, fast-paced games, how to control their speed, balance, and coordination.

During the remainder of the year, we focus on the individual skill sets such as passing, dribbling, shooting, orientation and trapping.  We correct, develop and build upon their skills starting from the very basics.  As the season progresses, we incorporate team based training with these skill sets to prepare them for attacking and defending.  By the end of the first year, the kids will understand the concept of teamwork, and their role on a team in addition to the skills that they have learned and developed!

U9-

Over the course of the first 14 weeks, we bring the excitement of competition and team play to the sessions.  We instruct the young athletes by using demonstrations and having them imitate what they see in order to learn the proper technique for intermediate and advanced moves. We understand that the more contact they have with the ball, better they become.  We not only emphasize this by keeping them active during each session, but also by giving them “assignments” to work on at home or with their friends.  We build off of the concept of offense and defense by introducing field positions.  From this, the young athletes are able to participate in small sided games and scrimmages while understanding their role on the field.

During the final remainder of the year, we build on the skills that the young athletes have learned in the past, and challenge them with more advanced skills and concepts that are appropriate for their age.  As the young athletes become more comfortable with the concept of teamwork, we introduce team fitness to their curriculum.  The games and drills that they participate in are designed to round them out as a complete soccer player.  By the end of the year, the kids will have better field awareness, ball control, team unity, fitness level, and quicker response time to what is being taught.

U12-

Over the course of the year, we train the young athletes by means of complex, coordinated skill sequences that mirror an actual game. Because they are beginning to be able to address hypothetical situations, and to solve problems systematically, we emphasize communication and questions before, during and after every drill. In order to really understand their skills, it is very important for the young athletes to understand why they are learning the skill and how they can use it in a game or scrimmage.

In addition to the challenging them mentally, we emphasize the importance of challenging the young athletes physically. Through the focus of teamwork, fitness, tactical work, and recognition, they are able to not only reach their potential, but to excel to a more advanced level of play.
